Bureau of Missing Heirs
My name is Richard Thomas Tosaw and I founded my
company over 23 years ago.

I was born March 13, 1925 in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew
up in Iowa and Omaha Nebraska.

I was a signalman in the Coast Guard in WWII, convoying
ships up in the Aleutian Islands.

With the GI Bill I attended Nebraska and Creighton
Universities and graduated from the Denver University
College of Law.

I was appointed Special Agent in J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI in
1951 and served in the Seattle and San Francisco offices.
A bit about the Founder
Richard Thomas Tosaw
After passing the California State Bar I became a Deputy District Attorney in Modesto
California, after which I entered the general practice of law. I now confine my practice to
unclaimed probate estates.

In 1983, I made an in-depth investigation of the skyjacking of the Boeing jet by the
infamous D.B. Cooper in 1972 and my book
“D.B. Cooper-Dead or Alive” , still sells on
Amazon.com.

I founded "The Bureau of Missing Heirs Inc." over 20 years ago and we have been very
successful solving over 2500  cases. We have been at the same location in Ceres, California in
the San Joaquin Valley since we started

Our company has a perfect record with the local Better Business Bureau and the California
State Bar. I recently received a certificate signed by the Chief Justice of the California
Supreme Court congratulating me on the 50th anniversary of my practice of law in California.

I have authored five bills passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor, making it
easier for heirs to claim their inheritances I am recognized as an expert in that field of law
and the author of the leading text book on the subject, “Escheat Law in California”.

My company works strictly on a commission basis. If we submit your case and are successful
then we receive a commission. If the claim is unsuccessful we get nothing. So, if you the
claimant get nothing, no charges will be made.

We are a private company and obtain our cases from various sources. We do not guarantee
or vouch for any of the information contained in these lists. Where heirs are unknown it's
possible the money has already been claimed. In California it's "first come first-served". So
maybe another blood relative of the decedent has already stepped forward and claimed the
estate.

We enjoy our work of bringing good news to people and if you think you might have been
named as a beneficiary see our "Named Beneficiary List".

If you have a relative who lived in California you might want to take a quick look at our
"Unknown Heir List".

If the names on either list ring a bell contact us and perhaps we will be bringing good news
to you.
